Autotools tab setting

Instructions

Step 1.

All Auto-commands listed below are disabled by default. You need to select the ones you want to use. Make sure you select the autotools you want to use.

ATTENTION:

In order to make autotools work you have to remember the main rule with your mouse gesture:

holding the mouse left button down and DO NOT RELEASE the button until the command (copy, paste or cut) is completed.

Auto-Copy

Video- How to use Autocopy

Copies selected text to clipboard with a certain mouse gesture.

IMPORTANT: Copy operation is performed the same way as Cut operation on mouse movement. Auto-Copy is set as a primary default operation and will be switched to Cut operation automatically. Read Help for more details.

Turn on Auto-Copy (how to use it):

First, you have to highlight the desired text. You do it this way:

- Click mouse in the beginning of the word you want to highlight.

- While HOLDING left mouse down drag the cursor over the word to highlight it.

-IMPORTANT. When you finish highlighting DO NOT release left button and stop cursor movement for time frame specified in Autotools panel ( 0.8 sec. by default). Then you should see icon "c" appear beside your cursor. That's when you release left button. Copy is done.

Another example:
If you set Enable Auto-Copy in 0.1 sec that means that the highlighted text will be copied to clipboard immediately. While this is good for browsing or researching purposes it is not really good for editing tasks because you you will be making Copy practially immediately for every text you highlight and that's not you may want.

NOTE: If you highlight text with double or triple click there is a little twist:
For example:
Double click to highlight text and WHILE still holding the left button down just move the mouse cursor a little bit (1-2 mm) left or right within highlighted area. When you see 'c' then release the button.

If the text was previously highlighted and it remains highlighted and you want to copy it then simply click on it and WHILE holding button just move a cursor a bit.

To cancel Auto-Copy:

Do one of these:
- press Ctrl on your keyboard
- Hold a mouse for 2 more seconds without movement (only if Auto-Cut is disabled).
- Retract the highlighted text a bit until "c" disappears and that when you should release a button. If you continue to hold the button the "c" will re-appear and you can do Copy. This way you can correct your selection.

IMPORTANT: The less number you set the faster Copy icon will appear.

NOTE: Some programs does not allow you select an object by dragging a cursor over it. In such cases you click to select an object and while holding a button quickly move it a bit before any symbol appears. "c" should appear after that.

This is useful when working with MS Excel and similar programs or when working with images.
The same techniques applies on double click text selection.

To quickly switch to other operations such as Cut or Paste press Shift.

WARNING: Auto-copy may not work in some applications or cursor may not change into a symbol "c" due to some specifics. Testing is advised prior using."

Auto-Cut

NOTE: This feature is available only in paid versions

How to use AutoCut

Cuts selected text to clipboard with a certain mouse gesture.

IMPORTANT: Cut operation is performed the same way as Copy operation on mouse movement. Cut operation is set as default secondary operation and will automatically follow Copy operation. That is if you hold a button with "c" for more than 2 seconds (or whatever you set in Automatic Copy-Cut Switch) then Copy will turn into Cut and the icon will turn into scissors icon (see image).

Turn on Auto-Cut:

If Auto-Cut is set as default command operation:

Highlight text you wish to cut and DO NOT release the left button when you finish highlighting and stop any cursor movement for a while as specified (for example for 0.8 sec.) until the cursor changes into a symbol "Scissors". Once the left button is released the highlighted text will be Cut.

Another example:
If you set Enable Auto-Cut in 0.1 sec that means that the highlighted text will be cut to clipboard immediately. While this is good for browsing or researching purposes it is not really good for editing tasks because you will not have time to actually control editing task.

If Auto-Cut is NOT set as default command operation:
Highlight text you wish to cut. While still holding left button stop any cursor movement for a while as specified (for example for 0.8 sec.) until the cursor changes into a symbol "c" and keep holding it until it turns into "Scissors". Once the left button is released the highlighted text will be Cut.

IMPORTANT: The less number you set the faster Cut icon will appear.

To cancel auto-cut:

Do one of these:
- press Ctrl on your keyboard
- Hold a mouse for 2 more seconds without movement (only if Auto-Copy is disabled)..
- retract the highlighted text a bit

NOTE: Some programs does not allow you select an object by dragging a cursor over it. In such cases you click to select an object and while holding a button quickly move it a bit before any symbol appears. Wait for "Scissors" to appear.

This is useful when working with MS Excel and similar programs or when working with images.
The same techniques applies on double click text selection.

To quickly switch to other operations such as Copy or Paste press Shift.

WARNING: Auto-cut may not work in some applications or cursor may not change into a symbol due to some specifics. Testing is advised prior using."

Auto-Paste

Video- How to use AutoPaste

Turn on Auto-paste (how to use it):

Press and hold left mouse button for a while as specified in a dropdown menu (for example, for 0.8 sec) at the point of where you want to paste or at the starting point of the text you wish to replace until the mouse cursor changes into a symbol "P" (see image).

For Paste operation simply release the left button.

For Replace operation after "P" appeared while still holding the left button highlight the text. "P" disappears during text selecting. Once you selected desired text stop the movement for a while. 'P" appears again. Release the left button and highlighted text will be automatically replaced with the clipboard content.

Another example:
If you set Enable Auto-Paste in 0.1 sec. that means that the clipboard content will be pasted to the document immediately once you click within a document. While this is good for browsing or researching purposes it is not really good for editing tasks because you will not have time to actually control editing task.

To cancel Auto-Paste:

Do one of these:
- press Ctrl on your keyboard
- hold left button without movement for 2 sec. until "P" disappears.
- retract highlighted text a bit until "P" disappears.

To quickly switch to other operations such as Copy or Paste press Shift.

Auto-paste currently works only on white backgrounds.

WARNING: Auto-paste may not work in some applications or cursor may not change into a symbol due to some specifics. Testing is advised prior using."

UNDO

NOTE: This feature is available only in paid versions

How to use UNDO

Undo - perform "undo" with a short click of a mouse middle button (wheel). Is not advisable to use if your use auto-scrolling feature.

NOTE: This feature is available only in paid versions

Switch- allows to switch a default command between Copy and Cut with a click of a middle button. Just click and hold middle button (wheel) for about 2 seconds until a corresponding icon appears. This is used to quickly switch if you are doing lot's of the same operations (Copy or Cut).

You may need this function when you have a task where you do a lot Copy or of Cut commands so you can easily switch your default operation.

Copy is default operation.

NOTE: This feature is available only in paid versions

Default Command - Operation which will be performed first after selecting text or image. The program's default is set to Auto-Copy which means that Copy icon will appear if select text. If you do not release the button then Copy will switch to Cut.

NOTE: This feature is available only in paid versions

Automatic Copy-Cut Switch in - time frame to hold a mouse button after which Copy will switch to Cut. The bigger the number the longer you need to wait for operation switch.

NOTE: This feature is available only in paid versions

Enable All - enable or disable all Auto-Commands. Also can be done via right click menu on Tray icon by pressing Disable Autocommands button..

NOTE: If Enable All is de-selected all Auto-Commands are de-activated (grayed out) and will not work but they are not disabled (de-selected) completely.

NOTE: It is advisable that you enable only those commands you frequently use to avoid unwanted effects. All those features are very powerful and once you get used to them you'll never go back to old-fashioned left/right click commands.

Click Cutter uses windows clipboard so if you do not like Auto-Commands simply turn them off and you can use your preferred methods to do Copy/Paste/Cut etc.

ATTENTION

You need to test the time delays for each Auto-command because it all depends on your personal habits to operate the mouse. The smaller number you set the faster Copy/Paste/Cut commands will be performed. Smaller numbers are good for browsing/researching purposes to save the time.

For file editing it is advised to set higher numbers because with smaller numbers all operations will be done very fast and may lead to undesirable results (especially with Paste or Cut operations).

Get used to it before using Auto-Commands with  important files.

Use with care!

How to setup Click Cutter to use a single Auto-tool

Sometimes you may want to use only specific autotools for your tasks.

For example, you  need only AutoCopy function.

To setup ClickCutter to work as a stand alone AutoCopy tool just follow theses steps:

- Select AutoCopy.
- Set the timer for AutoCopy to 0.1 sec (to make copy instant)
- De-select all other Autoools.
- In General tab under "Default operation" select "Icon Only" to disable popup dialog.

Now you have a pure Autocopy tool which works anywhere on your PC.

For more convenience the AutoCopy tool will be accompanied by a popping sound (can be turned off) and the tray Icon will change the color.

Note: disabling a popup dialog is a feature of paid versions only.

The same way you can setup ClickCutter for each individual Auto-tool
